the coldness hypothesis: 
does coldness correlate with a need for sleep?
experiment: 
measure body temperature and record results to a data logger
method:
a battery powered SMD arduino with simple temp probe and flash storage in a tiny box with belt attachment.
upload results for a week and make a nice chat with gnuplot 

I am not an EE but I think it might be something you can do or you can get advice from folks you know.</description>
