Our parents want to propagate their genes, and at this point that means us having children. Of course we've evolved to the point that we can make intelligent decisions about how to design our lives, but it's not too surprising that the parents and grandparents get hung up on their evolutionary imperative to make sure their genes get propagated. Since I'm contrary, I find this especially comforting when dealing with the relatives who don't believe in evolution :-) When family is driving me crazy, I find thinking about evolution very helpful.
