I really wish I was one tenth as optimistic as you, Mel. I put a lot of time into several attempted changes at Olin and really didn't get results I found worthwhile. I certainly hope someone manages a reboot - I think Olin really needs it, but I'm not very confident it will happen. At the end of the day, I think the continuation of the discussion is a good thing, but not good enough. I don't think we did all that much "constant trying-stuff and figuring-out" (curriculum-wise) when I was at Olin and I fear that will continue as well. I don't think that's a good thing. I feel a bit silly telling others that they have to do better than I could, but, unless they do, Olin will gradually settle towards normality. Man.
