I question the functionality of my logic sometimes

  1. Boston is cold (significantly so for an appreciable portion of the year)
  2. Mel is highly susceptible to cold (I have the masochism-fu to consciously endure it with no problem, but when I’m trying to concentrate on something else – for instance, work or sleep – it doesn’t work.)
  3. Mel loves living in Boston

Uh… yeah. Houston, we have a problem. Namely: I should live in your climate. But New England is just… awesome, and I don’t want to leave.

Currently wearing double socks, double pants, double shirts, a sweater, and a big down jacket, and it’s October for crying out loud. I need… more winter clothes…

  2. You’re from Chicago! Chicago is way colder than Boston – Chicago winter actually necessitates usage of winter jacket [as opposed to Boston, where one can get by on gloves, sweatshirt, and a little layering].

  3. My dad claims that when he moved to Minnesota he had a couple bad winters, then he decided to to treat the next winter differently. So he wore short-sleeved shirts as long as he could possibly bear it through the fall. From then on he says he was able to deal with the weather. Kind of like putting your head underwater in cold water, I suppose. So, an idea…
