First time I'm checking this or any blog in months, but there's always something interesting here...

We like to reason through things to make sure that we're choosing the best possible outcome or answer. But reason is limited by experience, and if you've never experienced something, it's nigh impossible to account for it in the reasoning. That's why I love the barber being a woman scenario, because to me, the fact that things are (or at least seem to be) nonlinear is a source of incredible comfort and deep respect for the intellect. Sometimes I wonder if I'm yearning for an untouchable Romantic enigma, but when I see hints that everything is not as it seems and that reality cannot yet be explained to operate as a coded program, I suddenly feel that there is a flame worth kindling, worth defending.

The idea of sidestepping a system is startling to me; I wonder why one would perceive or expect anything to be an exclusive system of its own, though it sometimes helps simplifying complex phenomena to enable primitive analysis. Considering your job of working in a system you created, I can see why you'd be frustrated. But I can only see myself working in an environment of uncertainties. I find that incorporating these new variables into my worldview/thinking system and experiencing the changes in dynamics that ensue is far more thrilling than knowing the exact output of my actions. Personality differences, I suppose. Maybe I just haven't thought about this enough :)
